Les Entreprises Chatel inc.

Established in 1967 by Mr. Jean-Guy Chatel, the company originally specialized in plumbing. From its origins and following strong growth in the construction field, Mr. Chatel realized that there was room to diversify and improve profitability across all his operations. That was when he integrated a roofing division, an area which has seen quick growth since its creation.

He is credited for carrying out the Sivaco/Infasco roofs in Marieville - a preliminary project of 20,000 sq. ft. now encompassing more than 1,000,000 sq. ft – among various other extensive projects in industrial, institutional, commercial and residential sectors.

In 1992, following the death of Mr. Chatel, his son André - already active within the company for many years - took charge of the business, bringing his sister Louise on board as his right-hand person and controller, a position she continues to hold today.

An unflagging worker, André has seen to the company’s considerable expansion since taking over as owner. Among other things, he has secured a general contractor’s license for the company and subsequently branched it out into over 25 specializations connected with general and specialized construction fields. He has consciously surrounded himself with a multidisciplinary team comprising over sixty employees, a good number of whom boast years of loyal service within the company.

Concerned about getting the job done properly and satisfying his customers, André is at the helm from 5 a.m. in order to organize his teams’ workday and meet executive personnel before going off to his other duties, often outside the office.

It is worth mentioning that André was named President of the A.M.C.Q (Association of Master Roofers of Québec) at the beginning of 2011.
